Skinneeez Dog Toys – Plush but not stuffed!

April 20th, 2010

Ok, there comes a time in every dog owners life when you think to yourself, ” that’s it I am never going to buy another stuffed dog toy.” Yes, I myself have said those exact words many times but I keep going back for more no matter how many times I have to pick up all the stuffing around the house or yard. Finally, I have come across a well made “plush” dog toy with no stuffing! The thing I love about Skinneeez is that there are so many cool styles and they are sized for all dog breeds. I have to say the favorites around the office are the Skinneeez Fox and the Skinneeez Beaver.

Antler Dog Chews – Long Lasting and Healthy – The Best of Both Worlds!

April 20th, 2010

Every once in a while I find a dog product that I get so excited about – I can’t tell enough people. ok here it is… antler dog chew is the most natural sense of the word.

Antler dog chews are an incredibly healthy chew for dogs of all sizes. Here is why I feel these dog chews are the very best chew for your dogs:

1. No splintering
2. Long Lasting – Yeah we save money!
3. Excellent source of calcium and minerals
4. No chemical enhancements
5. No dyes or preservatives
6. No detectable order

Every year across North America millions of male deer, elk and moose shed their antlers, providing us the perfect solution to your pet’s chewing needs!

All Natural Antlers provide numerous advantages over other dog chews on the market. First and foremost, a dog’s natural instinct is to search out and chew bones! Antler is bone but, unlike skeletal bones that usually have a soft center, antler is solid throughout, thereby making it much more difficult to splinter or break.

Naturally durable, rich in calcium and minerals, they’re one of the healthiest and longest lasting chews available. Never altered or chemically enhanced, they contain no dyes or chemicals, providing the purest chewing experience for your dog. Odorless to humans, our antlers have a naturally occurring odor that appeals to a canine’s discerning nose, encouraging them to chew and play.

Each species — deer, elk or moose — carries its own unique smell and taste, letting your dog select the one that he finds the most appealing. With five different antler sizes available, you can select the size perfect for your size dog.

Dogs + Yoga = Doga

January 20th, 2010

I have found an interesting new project that is combining my two loves. Yoga and dogs. I have gotten together with two friends: Silke is a dog trainer – check out her site: HeRo Canine Consulting and Maureen is a yoga instructor like myself. We are starting a Dog Yoga class in our town – Bloomsburg, PA. It has been a lot of fun putting the whole thing together. We are having our first “test run” class on January 31st. I will share with you all the fun once it happens… So stay tuned.

Healthy Dog Treats – A Balancing Act!

January 20th, 2010

When it comes to treating your dog, it can be a real challenge to find healthy dog treats.  In this post we will look at Green Tripe.

Green Tripe: What is Green Tripe and why give it to your dogs?

Tripe is the stomach of ruminating animals. These animals (i.e. cattle, buffalo, sheep, deer, goats, antelope, etc.) are classified as being four-footed, hooved, cud chewing mammals with a stomach that consists of four chambers. These same gastric juices and enzymes not only aid the animal in digestion, but also aid the dog in digesting and efficiently utilizing his food. The amino acids are necessary for muscular development and, the other gastric juices, are considered by some the best cleaner for their teeth!

The white tripe that you find in the grocery store has been cleaned, scalded and bleached.  It has almost no nutritional value for the canine. Check out these healthy tripe dog chews.
